[WWF-Korea성과]한국토종돌고래상괭이보호에전세계나서
WWF는한국의멸종위기동물인상괭이를보호하기위해지난8월국제포경위원회,세계자연보전연맹(IUCN)전문가들과함께상괭이문제를세계자연보전총회(WCC)회의에공식안건으로다룰것을요청했습니다.
그결과상괭이가WCC회의의공식안건으로채택되었다는소식을후원자님께전달할수있어매우기쁩니다.
WCC안건으로채택됐다는것은상괭이가멸종위기동물로지정된이후처음으로공식회의에서논의되는것으로,상괭이문제의심각성에대해전세계에알릴수있게됐다는점에서의미가매우큽니다.
이번기회를통해WCC의상괭이안건이한반도에서식하는멸종동물이처한위기를알릴뿐아니라,지속가능한바다에대한대중의인식을증진시키는계기가될것으로기대하고있습니다.

후원자님,지속가능한수산물임을증명하는MSC(세계해양책임관리회)인증제도에대해들어보셨나요?
MSC는수산물이지속가능한방법으로생산되었음을보증하는것으로,지난1997년WWF주도하에개발된국제적인인증제입니다.MSC인증을받은제품은생태계에미치는영향을최소화하는방식으로생산및시장에유통하고있다는것을의미합니다.
글로벌대기업들은이미많은제품에서MSC인증을받아해양생태계변화에대응하고있지만,국내에서는아직낯선제도입니다.
WWF-Korea는지난11월6일부터8일까지부산에서개최된국제수산엑스포에서바로이MSC제도에대해국내외기업들을대상으로홍보와컨설팅을진행했습니다.지속가능한수산물생산에대한소비자의인식이높아지는가운데국내기업의적극적인참여를도모하기위한파트너십활동의일환입니다.
국내에선WWF-Korea가참여한프로젝트로동원산업이최초로참치원양에서MSC인증을받아인증식을진행하기도했습니다.

기후위기에비상걸린기업,기후대응관심높아져
글로벌시장의주요기업들은기후변화에의한위기를사업운영에미칠큰위협으로보고있습니다.실제로글로벌기업들은기후위기대응에취약한파트너들과의거래를심각하게검토하고있습니다.이에기후위기에수출길이막힐위기를감지한국내기업들이WWF-Korea주최하는기후행동라운드테이블(ClimateActionRound-Table,CART)에보다높은관심을보이고있습니다.
기후행동라운드테이블은 WWF와국내기업,공공기관,금융기관,정부부처,국제기구등과함께기후변화에적극적으로대응하기위해방안을함께모색하는토론회입니다.
지난11월8일열린제4차기후행동라운드테이블에는여느때보다도많은관계자가참석해기후변화대응에대한국내관심이크게높아지고있음을확인할수있었습니다.
